  • Domain-specific languages are procedural languages that have a particular purpose, such as being used for web development.
  • SQL is domain specific (it is used to query databases)
  • Scripting languages are used to automate a task in an application, or provide a set of actions to an element of a page (such as using Javascript to change the contents of a section of a web page)
